My name is Nicholas Walejeski and I have been involved in the fitness industry since 2004. I have group and individual clientele ranging from college level athletes looking to increase sports performance, to older populations looking to increase quality of life. I have a passion for the fitness and wellness industry and believe that in order to successfully change one’s fitness lifestyle, one’s current psychological abilities must be challenged and changed as well. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Cal State San Marcos and am currently certified from multiple nationally recognized personal training certifications (NCSF, NESTA, NASM).
I believe in a holistic approach to fitness and wellness where my clients not only re-shape their bodies, but they re-shape their thoughts and attitudes towards fitness. I have competed in college level volleyball and have coached Men's Varsity Volleyball at Davis High School. I am experienced in developing personalized weight loss programs, resistance training programs, hypertrophy training, core training, polymetrics, functional training, post-injury programming, and special population training. I have been leading indoor and outdoor boot camps for over 5 years now and am continually impressed by the repeatedly developing abilities of my participants. Triathlon training has developed into one of my most successful fitness programs where people develop into a brand new sport and build lifetime friendships with fellow competitors.
I have been leading the triTRAINed triathlon training program for the past 4 years in Davis. The 2014 season will be my 5th year coaching the team. Each year we grow stronger and represent deeper within the triathlon community. We are a goal oriented program and are proud to train a wide range of athletes; from first timers looking to complete their first triathlon, to consistent top three podium finishers. I hold a Level 1 USAT triathlon certification. Please take a minute to read our success stories in the Before and After section.

Fitness has always been a part of my life. As I grew up in Davis as a young boy I was an avid baseball, basketball and soccer player and loved the thrill of competitive sports. As I went through high school and into college, I realized that baseball was my true love and to excel in my passion I needed to focus on getting into shape, which meant getting serious in the gym. It was during my junior year of high school that I started strength training and working on my cardiovascular fitness. I was hooked. The way that exercising made me feel was unmatched by many other aspects of my life and I now want to spread that feeling.
I am realizing every day that fitness is my passion and I love passing on the vast number of advantages that come with an active lifestyle. I am a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA. These two certifications give me the knowledge and skills needed to train the recreation fitness enthusiast as well as competitive athletes.
If success in sports is what you desire, I can be the person that helps you achieve that goal, but that is just one aspect of my skill set. I enjoy helping others get comfortable in a fitness setting, losing weight, gaining muscle, improving balance and mobility, or any other goal that you may have. I live my life in a way that promotes health and longevity and encourage others to do the same. I realize that sometimes life gets in the way but when it does, I will be there to help you persevere. I welcome challenges, whether I am helping someone lose weight who has previously had little success, or training someone to compete in an event that they never thought they could before. My name is Derek Haff, and I am eager to help you meet all your fitness objectives. While I am new to personal training in the professional sense, physical fitness has been at the center of my daily activities for as long as I can remember, and it has always been among the top priorities of my life. I have been involved in many aspects of athletics, having played football for many years as a youth, softball as a young adult, and have been studying the art of karate for the last couple years. Throughout, I have been highly devoted to all aspects of fitness, including weight training, aerobic exercise, and nutrition. My family has been members of the various manifestations of Get Fit Davis for about 25 years now; in fact, from the time that it first opened, and I have been working out here since I was 14 years old.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship from Sacramento State University in 2015 and I have decided to devote my time and energy to the thing that I am most passionate about: fitness. Towards that end I concentrated my efforts during my final semester of college to obtaining my N.A.S.M. certification as a physical trainer. Although some might say that physical fitness is not a career, those who dedicate their lives to fitness know that nothing is further from the truth. Given the aging population and the obesity epidemic, fitness is clearly an area with unbounded potential and opportunity. Devoting myself to help others achieve their fitness goals gives my life purpose beyond what could typically be achieved in the business environment.
Whatever your fitness goals may be, I can assure you that as your personal trainer, achieving those goals would be my highest priority. Your success will give me great personal satisfaction, and I will leave no stone unturned in making sure you become as fit as you want to be. My clients, or as I like to say “Team Members”, can range from a person just beginning their journey in health, to someone increasing mobility in daily movement and shedding pounds, to regular and “Masters” or Senior athletes who wish to go to the next level.
After review and goal setting together, we start by emphasizing proper technique and strong foundation in balance and movement. We then build endurance and strength, with the options of power, speed, agility and quickness. We are always doing mini evaluations or “Tune –Ups,” whether it is going after extra weight loss (I lost 60 lbs), gaining confidence in daily movement, firming and toning, training or pursuing a specific sporting event, or even just having fun achieving “The Positive Body” that is within you in a safe and comfortable environment.

I have had a lifetime of sports in high school (Track and Soccer), collegiate soccer, and throughout my adult life with Coaching, Running, Volleyball, Tennis, Pickleball, Speed Rollerblade, Cross Country Skiing, Cycling….and Golf!

Since 1993 Liz has been helping people achieve their fitness goals and feel good about exercise and themselves. Starting at Milberry Union, on the campus of UCSF Medical Center, Liz worked with people of all ages and abilities. Her client list ranged from people new to fitness to elite athletes and included working professionals, seniors, as well as students. After starting her family and moving to Davis, Liz returned to strength training in 2010 supporting the Davis Diamond Gymnastics Team. Liz is looking forward to sharing her experience and her lifelong love of fitness with clients at Get Fit Davis. According to Liz, “Training helps us do whatever it is we want to do.

I came to Davis in 1977 to attend UCD and study Exercise Science and started working as a personal trainer and conditioning coach soon after graduating. I have 30 plus years experience and enjoy working with all ability levels. As we work on proper form for all exercises I find that there are usually some mobility issues that need to be addressed so that proper form can be attained. I like to think of training as pre-habilitation and building up the entire body through a variety of exercises and modalities to keep things interesting for us both.
I also work part-time at UC Davis as a personal trainer for the Workstrong program, training employees who have been on workman's comp.
Running and sports participation has been in my life since I was a young boy. I have competitive and coaching experience with running, soccer, basketball, and baseball. When I was younger I competed in triathlons and ran races from 5k to marathons and when I turned 50 I started running 50k trail runs. I will be coaching a Get Fit Running Club so let me know if you are interested in joining us for some great conditioning workouts. Hey! I'm Ashton Wolgast, a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise. While my professional title is new to me, I've had a passion for fitness that’s lasted a lifetime. My mom, Honey, always had my brother and I signed up for sports, dance, and anything else that kept us social and active. As a kid I started out with gymnastics and cheer leading. Now I know what you're thinking "cheer leading... really?" However, all stigmas aside, our coaches were tough. Cheer taught and helped me improve my strength training, conditioning, coordination, technique, and agility. It's what got me started. Then, after cheer, I stayed interested in fitness and exercise because of the many benefits of an active lifestyle. In fact, because of my workouts, I went through a total mind and body transformation. This new mindset is the one I want to pass on today.
Over the years I’ve learned and practiced many different methods of training. I started with high-intensity interval training (or HIIT) with calisthenics and plyometrics, then worked my way to powerlifting here at Get Fit Davis. Working at Get Fit Davis has granted me the extraordinary opportunity to train and pass on my passion for fitness. Every day, I gain experience and knowledge from others in the industry. I get to train with Coach Nick Walejeski in the triTRAINed program and with Coach Colin Schmitt in the Davis Boxing Academy. Both of these mentors help me learn new skills and better my training approach as I add to my "fitness library". Currently, I've been able to develop my own style for teaching fitness through instructing boot camps and leading group fitness workouts.
My fitness philosophy is to balance workouts, the same way you would balance a diet. I believe it is crucial to train in a variety of ways in order to learn what works best for you and to keep every part of you fit and healthy. My ultimate goal is to help people figure out how they like to get moving so that they can see their workouts in a way that gets them excited about having an active lifestyle. If you have a weight loss goal, want to look more toned, or just want to feel better during your daily life, I can help you find a program that suits you and helps get you excited about physical fitness. Your fitness is something that will change the way you think like it did for me. You will be more interested in your time-management, food, sleep, and self- improvement in all other areas of your life. Coming to the gym is fun for me. I started my fitness journey in Brazil, when I was 5 years old, with dance classes that I enjoyed for over 10 years. By the end of high school, strength training became an alternative to keep me fit and physically active in my busy schedule. The gym introduced me to a whole new enchanted world. I surfed through different classes, styles and techniques until I landed on HIIT, where I stayed for a while in order to increase cardiorespiratory and muscular endurance. More recently, I became interested in powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting techniques as I dipped into CrossFit waters, winning my very first competition (medal from photo) in April 2019!
Even though working in the fitness industry was my main goal and passion since the beginning, other paths led me to Engineering (yes, I have a M.Sc. degree from UC Davis!) which now helps me to understand the mechanics and kinetics of the body, and induces me in prioritizing form in my trainings, avoiding injuries.
I’ve been living in Davis since 2009, coming straight from Brazil, and I love this city that brought me so much, including my new career. What made go from Engineering to fitness? My kids. I realized that working with what my passion lies, would be fun and joyful, and would make me and my family happier and healthier, and it did. What I didn’t see coming was the rewarding feeling that it brings me to see my clients feel the joy of living a healthier life. So, needless to say, best decision ever!

Liz's personal fitness journey began in her teenage years with sports and dance. By 2002 she was teaching and performing dance professionally while discovering her passion for helping others along their own journeys of health and well-being. Since that time, Liz has taught numerous formats of exercise including body sculpting and cardiovascular training, mind-body practices and various styles of dance fitness. She has completed over 200 hours of training in yoga instruction as well as in depth training in Pilates through Balanced Body University.
Liz is an AFAA/NASM Certified Personal Trainer, and also teaches strength and conditioning, spin, aqua, barre and other forms of group exercise. Liz believes in promoting life-long, sustainable wellness while helping clients meet their individual fitness goals. She strives to help her clients achieve overall strength and mobility, preventing injury and attaining muscle balance in their bodies. Liz has a genuine passion for the work she does. Besides giving her clients the knowledge and tools to meet their long-term fitness goals, she helps clients cultivate love and acceptance of their own unique bodies.
Liz believes in empowering clients to take ownership of their own fitness journey. In addition to offering weekly training, Liz also offers an every-other week option. This includes personalized workout design and ongoing contact to keep her clients confidently progressing over the two week period. This option is perfect for clients who feel that they can get to the gym and workout on their own or take group classes, but need guidance and support along the way. This is also perfect for clients who regularly workout but have hit a plateau and need help breaking through.
